FBI accused of falsifying crime stats; Democrats claim rates down, media repeats lies.

Sharing is Caring!

Our media is knowingly playing a part in this shameful con. They know that none of the data being reported by the FBI is accurate. The media could use other sources but they don’t want to know the truth, at least not before the election.

2020 was an outlier. Some crimes were way up, especially during the summer of love riots, and some crimes were way down due to lockdowns. So let’s look at 2019 vs 2022 and 2023 to see if crime is really at a “50 year low” as they are claiming.

This chart from the Coalition for Law, Order, and Safety aggregates the crime data that other sources have publicly reported. They didn’t calculate any numbers, just grabbed them from the sources. All of these numbers are easily verifiable.

The MCCA 70 is the Major Cities Chiefs Association. Police chiefs from the 70 largest cities in the country, their data comes directly from the police precincts.

The CCJ is the completely nonpartisan Council on Criminal Justice. They collect data independent of the FBI, focusing local and state data.

Notice how different the FBI’s numbers are from the other sources. For instance, according to the FBI, aggravated assault was 3% less in 2023 than in 2019. According to data from the actually police precincts, it was 26% higher in 2023 than in 2019.

And none of this takes into consideration how so many crimes are no longer being prosecuted. Each year the Bureau of Justice does a national victims survey that focuses on victims of crime instead of who is actually prosecuted. You know how we are watching robberies go unpunished? The Bureau of Justice reported that robberies were up 30% since 2019. The FBI has robberies down 18%. That’s the difference between an all-time high and an all-time low.

The FBI and CDC used to report the same number of homicide deaths or very close to it but in 2021, when the FBI changed their method for collecting data, all of a sudden the FBI’s data no longer matches that of the CDC. And the FBI would rather guess than get it right. The FBI only collected data from about 63% of the precincts in 2023, as opposed to 91% in 2019. They “estimated” the rest. That means that almost half of the data that the media is now using to claim that crime is way down is literally a guess made up by the FBI. Not surprising that during this election year the FBI didn’t guess on the high side for any of their numbers.
