They’ve been ran nearly exclusively by Democrats for 50+ years
This is going to sound harsh, but I will say it since it’s directly related: once you are in the position of being a hard drug addict living in the streets you’re better off this world.
The recovery chance of a person in those circunstances is very low, and not many people realize how much suffering these people cause to themselves, to their families and to the society as a whole. Every government measure to “care for the drugs addicts on the street” only makes things worse in the long term. The only solution is to take drugs off the streets. I will get tough at first but it’s the right thing to do. That would not only lower the criminality rates immensely in the medium-long term, but also reduce the power that criminal gangs, drug smuggling mafias and other organizations have
