EU Pledges Further $22 Billion in Tax Payer Cash to Ukraine

Sharing is Caring!

(The National Pulse) The European Union (EU) is preparing to dedicate up to €20 billion ($22.4 billion) over the next four years to ensure Ukraine’s military remains stocked amid growing concerns from Western nations, including the United States and the United Kingdom, over their increasingly depleting munitions reserves.

The military fund will become “part of the EU’s broader efforts to show its long-term commitment to Ukraine,” reports POLITICO.

The EU will not pay for Ukrainian weapons directly, however, opting to remunerate individual nations that manufacture, purchase, and donate their own weapons to the Ukrainian forces such as “ammunition, missiles and tanks.”
