Engaged couple bungee jump off bridge and fall 330ft to their deaths below

Alberto Galletti and Tiziana Accora were engaged and decided to bungee jump off a bridge in Italy – but the couple tragically fell to their deaths when safety equipment failed during their 330ft tandem jump

A young engaged couple tragically lost their lives after plummeting more than 300 feet during what was supposed to be an exhilarating tandem bungee jumping experience, in a devastating and fatal accident.

Bungee jumping is a high-octane activity that draws thrill-seekers worldwide, involving participants leaping headfirst from elevated structures such as bridges, skyscrapers, cliffs, or cranes, secured by a strong elastic cord.

The experience simulates freefall before the elastic cord stretches and softens the descent, propelling the jumper back upward until the momentum fades. Participants are then typically lowered safely to ground level or a retrieval platform. It follows a separate horrifying incident in which bungee jump workers gave a disturbing excuse after a woman was thrown to her death without a rope.
