Under U.S. workplace safety rules (OSHA), employers are required to provide potable (safe drinking) water to employees.
What the law actually requires
OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.141) say employers must:
- Provide safe, potable drinking water
- Make it readily accessible during work hours
- Keep it sanitary
- Ensure employees are not charged for it
