After arriving in Paris, he tested positive for Ebola and was placed into specialized isolation and treatment.
According to French health officials, the patient arrived with a very low viral load and had already been isolated before final test results confirmed the infection.
Authorities are now tracing contacts and monitoring the situation closely.
The case is significant because it marks the first confirmed Ebola infection on French soil during the current outbreak, which began in the Democratic Republic of Congo and later spread into Uganda.

So far, no local transmission has been reported in France.
Officials say the risk to the general public remains very low because the patient was identified quickly and moved into a high-security medical facility.
Ebola spreads through direct contact with bodily fluids from an infected person.
It does not spread through the air like influenza or COVID.
Still, the case is a reminder that outbreaks occurring thousands of miles away can reach major international travel hubs within hours.
For now, French authorities say the situation is contained.
The question is whether this remains an isolated imported case or becomes the first of several infections detected outside Africa.
