The Department of Justice and the FBI have closed the book on Jeffrey Epstein’s federal case. According to a memo obtained by Axios and confirmed by multiple outlets, investigators found no credible evidence of a “client list” tied to sex crimes and no indication of foul play in Epstein’s death. The official conclusion: suicide. The memo states that enhanced surveillance footage from the Manhattan jail showed no unauthorized entry into Epstein’s cell area between 10:40 p.m. on August 9, 2019 and 6:30 a.m. the next morning. The video was reviewed in raw and enhanced formats. No anomalies. No visitors. No tampering.
The memo also says no blackmail material was discovered. No list of names. No predicate for further charges. Ghislaine Maxwell remains the only person convicted in connection to Epstein’s trafficking operation. She is serving a 20-year sentence. The DOJ says the case is closed. No additional indictments are expected.
Attorney General Pam Bondi previously claimed the FBI was reviewing “tens of thousands of videos” involving Epstein and minors. That statement, made in April and repeated in May, has not been corroborated. FBI Director Kash Patel told Joe Rogan in June, “He killed himself. I’ve seen the whole file.” Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, both former skeptics, now say the evidence supports suicide.
The DOJ distributed binders marked “declassified” to conservative influencers earlier this year. The contents were already public. No client list. No new names. No bombshells. The Epstein file, according to federal officials, contains no hidden conspiracies. The surveillance footage, reviewed and enhanced, shows no breach. The autopsy confirms suicide. The case is closed.
