Disturbing price of water in the Houston Texas Area

Sharing is Caring!

Went to a few stores and at Sam’s Club decided to replenish my bottled water supply. Picked up three cases at just over $4.00 each from the last pallet holding them, only a few were left. Right next to them were the new pallets priced at just under $8.00 each. Same brand, much smaller cases. They replaced the old bottles with slightly smaller new ones, 48 in a case rather than 40. The actual size of the new cases was around 3/4th the size of the old.

Sam’s Club is owned by Walmart, and typically when anything bad occurs price changes and shortages seem to occur at these stores a good week ahead of time. I noticed that during the Covid-19 response.

Another store I went to was Walmart as it was next to Sam’s Club.  Everything looked fine in there, prices are much higher than they used to be, doubt that’ll change. What was out of normal though was when I passed by three black kids down a center isle where the smallest one in front ahead of the other two suddenly jumped a couple times shouting ‘bang, bang’ which I wasn’t sure what that was about, but when I passed the other two bigger kids one of them said out loud, “the big black man killed you.”  He said it matter of factly without bothering to look my way, but I’ll assume the kids were just being kids and goofing around. Most everyone in the stores were of various ethnic groups and nationalities, whites of a European descent seemed like a minority race.
