A DHL cargo plane, operated by Swiftair, tragically crashed near Vilnius Airport in Lithuania on November 25, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m. local time. The plane was in the final stages of its approach when it crashed into a nearby residential area. The collision resulted in the death of one crew member and injuries to three others. A house was damaged, and a fire broke out as a result of the crash, though local authorities swiftly evacuated residents from the affected area.
The Lithuanian police and emergency services were quick to respond. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, which remains unclear at this point.
