Factcheck: The Daily Mail headline makes it sound like the CIA sat on some miracle cancer cure for 60 years, but that’s really not what the document is. When you actually look at what was declassified, it’s just a Cold War–era translation of a Soviet scientist’s speculative idea that parasites might play a role in certain cancers. It’s not a cure, it’s not a treatment, and it’s not something modern medicine considers groundbreaking. The CIA didn’t hide it,  they just archived it like they did with tons of foreign scientific papers back then. The “backlash” the headline mentions is basically people reacting to the headline itself, not to any real suppressed discovery.
