Dam about to blow in Illinois. Flash flooding forces evacuations, road closure.

Sharing is Caring!

A dam near the town of Nashville in southern Illinois is in imminent danger of failure due to heavy rains. Approximately 300 residents have been evacuated as a precaution.

The Washington County Emergency Management Agency issued an evacuation order, and residents in the affected areas have been urged to leave immediately. The flooding has also caused significant road closures, making travel difficult. The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center to assist those affected.
