House republicans drop Trump tax cuts

Washington always finds money for what it wants to fund. Multi-trillion-dollar budget? No problem. Billions for foreign aid? Easy. Handouts for pet projects? Just sign here. But when it comes to extending the Trump tax cuts—the same ones that put more money in Americans’ pockets—suddenly, there’s no room.

Rep. Tim Burchett just confirmed that the bill under consideration completely leaves out Trump’s signature tax cuts. Fiscal conservatives are furious. If nothing changes, those tax cuts will expire, meaning higher taxes for millions of Americans. But don’t worry, the bill has plenty of spending packed in elsewhere!

Burchett and other conservatives have pointed out the bloated spending levels in this budget. Trillions are being thrown around like Monopoly money, yet there’s not a dime left for tax relief? Speaker Mike Johnson is scrambling for votes, but with Republicans already wavering, the final outcome is far from certain.

If this passes without restoring Trump’s tax cuts, voters will remember. They always do.
