China’s extreme weather is leaving devastation across multiple provinces

Northern China was caught off guard by a violent storm system that tore through cities and rural areas alike. What started as a typical summer afternoon quickly escalated into a full-scale weather disaster, leaving destruction in its wake. Convective storms erupted across the North China Plain and Bohai Rim, bringing fierce winds, torrential rain, and sudden temperature drops that turned the region into a battleground against nature.

Meteorologists recorded wind speeds reaching 150 km/h, strong enough to uproot trees and rip apart rooftops. Beijing saw streets flooded within minutes, while emergency crews rushed to rescue stranded residents. In Hebei and Inner Mongolia, entire neighborhoods were left without power as electrical grids collapsed under the storm’s force. The chaos extended to transportation, with flights canceled and rail services suspended, leaving thousands stranded.
