China suspends Boeing deliveries and U.S. parts

Beijing just delivered a direct hit to Boeing’s future in China. In response to President Trump’s 145% tariffs on Chinese goods, China has reportedly instructed its airlines to suspend all new Boeing jet deliveries and halt purchases of U.S. aircraft parts, escalating a growing trade war into aerospace.

About 10 Boeing 737 Max jets are now stuck in limbo. Some sit idle near Seattle. Others were nearly ready for handoff at Boeing’s Zhoushan finishing center. Deliveries may still sneak through if the paperwork cleared before April 12, but every case now depends on Beijing’s discretion.
