The Chase Sapphire Reserve is getting a full-body rebuild. Not a facelift. A structural overhaul. Starting June 23, 2025, the card will carry a $795 annual fee, up from the previous $550. That’s a 44.5% jump. In return, Chase is rolling out a new slate of benefits, credits, and earning categories. Some are upgrades. Others are trade-offs. The fine print matters.
The new earning structure is sharper but narrower. Cardholders will now earn 8x points on Chase Travel, 4x on flights and hotels booked directly, 3x on dining, and 1x on everything else. The old 3x on general travel is gone. So is the 1.5x redemption boost on Chase Travel for points earned after October 26, 2025. That’s a key shift. It means cruises, rideshares, and Airbnb bookings now earn just 1x unless routed through Chase.
The perks are stacked but segmented. The card now offers $250 twice a year for The Edit, Chase’s premium hotel collection. That’s $500 annually if used. There’s also a $300 travel credit, unchanged from the previous version. Dining gets a boost with $150 twice a year in credits at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables. That’s another $300 if you can book the right spots.
Lifestyle credits are layered in. Cardholders get $250 for Apple TV and Music subscriptions, though Apple One is excluded. There’s $150 twice a year for StubHub, $120 for Peloton, $120 for Lyft, and $420 in DoorDash perks, including DashPass and monthly promos. These are not automatic. They require activation and tracking. But they add up.
Travel status perks remain. The card includes IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite, Priority Pass lounge access, and Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge entry when flying Star Alliance. Global Entry fee credit is still included. Car rental status details are still pending.
Redemption power shifts. Points earned before October 26, 2025, will still qualify for the best available offer, whether that’s the new Points Boost or the old 1.5x Chase Travel redemption. After that date, only Points Boost applies. That program offers up to 2x redemption on select premium airfare and hotel bookings through Chase Travel. It’s targeted. Not universal.
Timing matters. If you apply before June 23, you lock in the old fee and benefits through October 25. After that, the new structure takes over. Existing cardholders will see the new perks phased in starting October 26, with the higher fee applied at renewal.
The math is simple but sharp. If you use the full stack of credits, the value exceeds $2,300. But that assumes you spend in the right places. If you don’t use The Edit, StubHub, or Apple services, the value drops fast. The new Sapphire Reserve is built for high-frequency travelers and lifestyle spenders who can extract every dollar. For everyone else, it’s a premium card with a premium price tag.
