There has been a significant sabotage attack on France’s high-speed rail network just ahead of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. The attack involved coordinated acts of vandalism, including arson, which have severely disrupted train services across the country. This has caused major delays and cancellations, affecting thousands of passengers and creating widespread chaos.
Authorities are working tirelessly to restore services and ensure the safety of all travelers. Security measures have been heightened, and investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack. The French government has condemned the act, emphasizing that such actions will not deter the spirit of the Olympics or the country’s commitment to hosting a successful event.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE MASSIVE ATTACK ON FRANCE’S RAIL NETWORK SO FAR
France’s state-owned railway operator SNCF said arsonists had targeted installations along the lines connecting Paris with the country’s west, north, and east and that traffic would be severely disrupted during the weekend.
They also stopped an attack on lines in the southeast of the country.
Sources close to the investigation have said it is a “clearly coordinated attack” timed to cause maximum disruption to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games which takes place later today in Paris.
High-speed TGV trains are being diverted onto other lines, leading to delays of up to two hours and several cancellations.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Here’s the latest on the train disruption.
Service on three high-speed train lines in France was disrupted on Friday because of arson, the national railway company said, causing travel chaos on the day of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.
“A massive attack took place last night to paralyze the high-speed rail network,” the S.N.C.F. said in a statement. “Deliberate fires were set on the Atlantic, Northern and Eastern lines to damage our installations.”
The company said traffic was “severely disrupted” on those lines. Many trains were canceled, it added, and advised travelers to postpone their trips if possible.
Train system will now be disabled for weeks, leftists blamed.
