The German government is not planning to deliver the Taurus cruise missiles so urgently requested by the Ukrainian army in the foreseeable future. This was confirmed to BILD by German and Ukrainian government circles.
Germany has not yet given the government in Kiev a formal rejection of the request, but has made it clear internally that the Taurus rockets are not currently being delivered. Scholz is theoretically keeping the option open for the future, but a delivery is considered highly unlikely.
Last week, according to BILD information, the Chancellor was asked at an internal meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee why France and Great Britain are supplying cruise missiles, but Germany is still not. Scholz then responded at the meeting, according to participants, that the two countries “can do something that we are not allowed to do, so the question does not arise.” A clear Taurus rejection!
What Scholz apparently means by this: Great Britain and France contribute the geodata for missile targets directly themselves, Great Britain also has its own staff on site.
So that confirms what we all knew!
In addition to the question of geodata and possible personnel, German government representatives are also said to have expressed concern that Taurus cruise missiles could hit the Kerch Bridge.
“….the German side expressed concrete concern that the bridge in Crimea could be destroyed with German weapons.”
