Laurel Shooting Investigation – The Laurel, Delaware, vicinity of Belle Avenue and West 7th Street is the focus of a shooting investigation by the Delaware State Police. The Laurel, Maryland, police have arrived as well. Multiple people were shot, according to authorities. At this time, we are not disclosing victim information.
We have closed off West 7th Street, West 8th Street, and Center Street. Multiple police agencies will be there, including with police K9 units and air support, according to the police. They want you to stay away from there. Police in Laurel said the situation is not safe and that several suspects are still at large. Dial 911 if you witness anything suspicious.

5:10pm FINAL UPDATE: W 7th Street between West Street and Center Street remains closed, and is expected to remain closed for several hours. Please note, this unfortunately includes residents in that area for now, but their access to houses in the area will be prioritized when it is deemed appropriate. This incident is a confirmed shooting investigation, with three gunshot victims. All three victims are males in their teens. Their conditions and identities are being withheld pending contact with next-of-kin.
The suspects are currently at large.
The investigation is being turned over to the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, as is standard practice for this type of investigation. The Laurel Police Department works hand-in-hand with the Delaware State Police, and is assisting in full capacity with their investigation. The Delaware State Police PIO will be responsible for updates from this point forward.
