BREAKING | KARMELO ANTHONY FOUND GUILTY OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER.

A Collin County jury reached a unanimous verdict today in the trial of 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony.
Anthony was convicted of first-degree murder for the April 2025 stabbing of Austin Metcalf.
The jury rejected self-defense claims after deliberating for less than three hours.
The stabbing occurred under a team tent at a Frisco ISD track meet during rainy conditions.
Anthony now faces a prison sentence ranging from five years to 99 years, or life.
The jury decided that a shove does not justify a lethal response with a knife.

Former Centennial High School student Karmelo Anthony was convicted of murder for the fatal stabbing Austin Metcalf, a 17-year-old student-athlete, during a Frisco Independent School District track meet on April 2, 2025.
