A leaked email released by Tulsi Gabbard reveals that Hillary Clinton approved a plan in 2016 to link Donald Trump to Russian hackers in order to distract from her own email scandal. This plan laid the groundwork for the Department of Homeland Security to later redefine online misinformation as a cyber threat to “critical infrastructure.” That redefinition in turn enabled a partnership between government agencies and social media platforms to censor online speech under the guise of cybersecurity.
