Taxpayers are footing the bill for over $600 million in salaries at the Department of Education—money that could have been used to improve schools, help teachers, and boost student outcomes. Instead, it’s lining the pockets of bureaucrats. There’s no reason government salaries should be that high, especially when the results are questionable.
