Ancient wooden posts near Stonehenge reveal early solstice prototype 500 years before the stones

Archaeologists from Wessex Archaeology find old structure at Bulford village.

Site only 5 kilometers or 3 miles from Stonehenge.

It is two big wooden posts 120 meters apart. They align with summer solstice sunrise and winter solstice sunset.

Carbon dating show around 3000 BC or 5000 years old. This is 500 years before main stones at Stonehenge.

They call it possible prototype because same solar alignment idea but much simpler with wood instead of big stones.

Excavation part of work for British army barracks. Evidence of big feasts and gatherings nearby.

Archaeologist Phil Harding say once in a lifetime find.
