FBI Houston and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are currently conducting law enforcement activity near the intersection of Hugh Road and Crescent Peak Drive in north Houston. We have secured a perimeter in that area and are asking people to avoid the area. FBI Houston personnel and specialized teams will be on-site for several hours. This activity is related to this morning’s New Orleans attack, but due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further information can be provided.

The FBI is conducting a search at the Texas residence of Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the identified suspect in the New Orleans mass killing that claimed 15 lives.

Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen, has been at the center of a multi-agency investigation following the horrific attack, which occurred during a public event. The raid aims to uncover additional evidence as authorities piece together the events leading up to this tragedy.

The investigation now spans several states, with law enforcement agencies collaborating to determine whether Jabbar acted alone or had accomplices.
