Emigration from Canada to the U.S. hits a 10-year high, surges 70% in a decade.

Sharing is Caring!

The trend of Canadians moving south of the border has surged significantly. According to data from the American Community Survey (ACS), 126,340 people emigrated from Canada to the U.S. in 2022—a remarkable 70% increase compared to a decade ago when 75,752 individuals made the move in 2012. The reasons behind this migration vary, but factors such as affordability and disillusionment with Canadian leadership have played a role. Some Canadians are pursuing the American dream, seeking a more affordable life in sunnier destinations like Florida.
