World Health Organization confirms bird flu has spread to India

The World Health Organization (WHO) has indeed confirmed a human case of bird flu in India. The infection was caused by the H9N2 virus and was detected in a four-year-old child in West Bengal. The child was admitted to a local hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit due to severe respiratory distressFortunately, the child has recovered and was discharged from the hospital. While this is concerning, it’s important to note that most human cases of H9N2 infection tend to be mild, and the virus hasn’t yet acquired the ability to transmit from human to human.
