I guess they can’t suppress the VIX forever. Haven’t seen a move in VIX like this since August of last year.

I follow futures. Particularly soybean oil. Someone made a shit post the 08 crash could have been predicted by soybean oil futures and Oreo making a new cookie. I don’t know why I latched onto it but I kept following it because why not it was way out in left field and I like that that weird shit. You can find more about that here if you want:

I got a notification that soybean oil futures hit a > 5% drop. I opened up finviz and noticed the the VIX is wayyyyy up, but somehow the indexes are totally flat. Not going to speculate what that means, but it is very unique. I couldn’t find any situation where the vix is up that much with the indexes that flat since the sneeze. With soybeans dropping that much maybe that weird ass theory really was a predicative tool.
