The most trafficked stores this holiday season were the wholesale discounters like Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and Ross Stores.

I don’t know where they ship all the TVs that don’t sell.

There are probably shipping containers full of the things rotting in some abandoned parking lot.

Wall Street requires ever increasing consumption to fuel lofty stock prices.

It hasn’t existed in years, thus the Fedbux on turbo.

Now that every industry has consolidated into a few players, you can really see the real state of the economy.

The flapping heads all claim that everything’s gone online citing the .com gains. The problem is that the brick and mortar decline is magnitudes higher than the increase in online sales.

Store chains like Dick’s Sporting Goods, which is actually a giant mirage, have resorted to turning old vacant strip mall spots into liquidation stores.

They probably got a great deal on the rent. Buy what was a $75 sweatshirt for $30.

After the recent price increases I think people have finally had enough.

The increase of the bill in a casual dining establishment from $35 to $45 was taken in stride.

Now that the same bill comes to $70 just a few months later, the towel is thrown.

Places that were busy during the summer are now ghost towns.

We’ve got 1999 and 2007 running in parallel.
