A Potential Fall of Ukraine Into Russia Would Have Catastrophic Consequences for NATO

Sharing is Caring!

In the unlikely but nonetheless possible scenario where Ukraine completely collapses and gets annexed by Russia, the new NATO front-line would have to be set up in Eastern Poland, in the heart of Europe instead of its fringes.

Having taken Ukraine and having battle hardened generals and troops, Russians would likely set their eyes on Baltic states, Moldova and Georgia next.

All of which are historic parts of USSR and Russian Empire, under the same rationale with which Putin launched the invasion of Ukraine.

Furthermore, taking Ukraine will create a land border between Hungary and Russia, which would allow Russia to send troops and equipment into friendly Serbia under the Orban regime, potentially sparking the frozen conflicts in Bosnia and Kosovo.

I don’t think the Republicans in Washington understand how catastrophic it would be for the U.S. to lose Ukraine.
