BREAKING: White House warns of ‘unprecedented’ Serbian troop buildup on Kosovo border (a day before US gov shutdown)

Sharing is Caring!

…Quite convenient, isn’t it?

“The White House has said there is an “unprecedented” buildup of Serbian troops and armour along the Kosovo border and called on Belgrade to withdraw them immediately.

The Nato peacekeeping force in Kosovo, Kfor, has been reinforced with British troops and the Biden administration said it was consulting with allies to ensure Kfor’s posture “matches the threat”.

“We are monitoring a large Serbian military deployment along the border with Kosovo that includes an unprecedented staging of advanced Serbian artillery, tanks and mechanized infantry units,” the spokesperson for the US national security council, John Kirby, said on Friday.”

“This reaction by the White House seems similar to the warnings we saw before Russian troops entered Ukraine.”

Seems like NATO has seen something genuinely concerning relating to Kosovo and Serbia.

Lots of strong worded statements being made all of a sudden, sounds like a lot going on behind the scenes.

“Due to the current situation in Kosovo*, we have transferred command of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Princess of Wales Regiment – the reserve force for NATO’s Kosovo* Force (KFOR) – to NATO so that it can provide support if necessary.” – Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom.

The US is urging Serbia to withdraw what it says is a large military build-up on the country’s border with Kosovo.

In the past months, tensions have been rising between Kosovo’s minority ethnic Serb and majority Albanian communities.

In response to the “current situation”, the UK said it was sending troops to join Nato peacekeepers there.

The military alliance said it was ready to increase its forces following a stand-off at a monastery in the north last Sunday in which four people died.

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the NATO defence alliance, said in a statement that he had decided to “approve additional forces to respond to the situation”.

“We will always take all necessary measures to maintain a safe environment and freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo.”

Stoltenberg does not give figures, but Britain’s Ministry of Defense announces that it has made a battalion of between 500 and 650 people available for the NATO operation in Kosovo.

According to the ministry, the battalion, which is part of the reserve troops of NATO’s Kosovo operation, has recently arrived in the area for previously planned exercises.

Russia will stage its first nationwide nuclear attack exercise across 11 time zones in preparation for potential nuclear war.

It is scheduled to take place on October 3 and will see Vladimir Putin’s regime present the West as a nuclear aggressor.

The one-day nuclear attack exercise, which has only ever been done region by region, will include preparation for the destruction of up to 70% of Russian housing stock and life support facilities.

It will assume the scenario that martial law has been introduced in Russia and that is has gone through full mobilisation.

The scenario for the test reads: ‘In some constituent entities [regions] of the Russian Federation, as a result of emergencies or other types of physical impact, complete destruction of life support facilities and up to 70% of the housing stock is possible’.”

Emergency alert systems being tested on phones and TVs on October 4 2023
The US Federal Communications Commission and FEMA are partnering to conduct a nationwide test of two alert systems – the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system – on October 4, 2023.

The purpose of the two-part test “is to ensure that the systems continue to be effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly those on the national level,” FEMA said in a news release.
