A few anti immigration books written by leftists are coming out and it’s ticking Matthew Yglesias off.
Conservatives and right wingers more broadly have completely dropped out of the immigration discussion.
They seem more interested in who blew Obama in 1998 or reviving covid conspiracy theories.
Who knows, maybe turning opposition to immigration into a bipartisan or even liberal issue could help bring about actual policy results.
Certain people are moving to snuff this in the crib.
— Immigrants are good for the economy
— Even a strong labor market doesn’t change the fact that some people don’t like immigrants
— Even people who do like immigrants want a secure and orderly border
All just realities to deal withhttps://t.co/Oow1DnHjj0
