On Sunday morning, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Jeju Air tragically crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea. The flight, Jeju Air 2216, was arriving from Bangkok, carrying 181 people—175 passengers and 6 crew members. Sadly, at least 28 people have been confirmed dead, and that number is likely to rise as rescue teams continue their efforts. Two survivors have been pulled from the wreckage so far.
Video footage shows the plane attempting to land with its landing gear malfunctioning, possibly due to a bird strike, before it crashed and caught fire. Emergency responders are still working to rescue those trapped in the wreckage.
