On December 27, 2024, a 67-year-old man was found on fire at Penn Station in New York City. Commuters alerted authorities at around 8:10 p.m. after discovering the man suffering from severe burns to his legs and upper body. He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition.

This incident occurred just five days after a woman was fatally set on fire on a subway train in Brooklyn. Authorities are investigating both cases to determine whether they are connected or isolated events.
