The Israeli Air Force has intensified its actions in Yemen, launching a series of strategic strikes on vital sites, including Sana’a International Airport, Hodeidah port, and energy facilities. These attacks are a direct response to escalating missile assaults from the Houthi militant group, which has become an increasing threat to Israel’s security.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the strikes targeted key Houthi infrastructure, designed to weaken the group’s operational capabilities and prevent further missile attacks on Israel. Advanced weapons, including Popeye and Rampage missiles, were deployed via F-15 and F-16 combat jets, ensuring precision and maximum disruption.
The situation in Yemen has deteriorated rapidly, with the Houthis launching frequent missile and drone strikes aimed at Israel. Since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, the Houthis, aligning themselves with Hamas and Hezbollah, have stepped up their aggression. These groups, all backed by Iran, have made it clear they will use any means necessary to further their shared goals, including targeting Israel with deadly missile fire.
The Israeli airstrikes on Yemen have caused significant damage to the military infrastructure supporting these attacks. Reports suggest the raids hit sensitive sites, including ports that are used for offloading Iranian weapons meant for the Houthis. Though casualty numbers remain unclear, Houthi media has claimed that at least nine people were killed in Hodeidah province during the attacks.
