The newly elected officials in Huntington Beach, CA, took office in a show of conservative unity, donning red MAGA-inspired “Make Huntington Beach Great Again” hats. This event marked the beginning of an all-conservative City Council, with Butch Twining, Don Kennedy, and Chad Williams, along with the incumbent city treasurer and a new city clerk.
Pat Burns was selected as the new mayor, with Casey McKeon chosen as mayor pro tem, positioning him as the next in line for the role.
The new council unseated incumbents Rhonda Bolton, Dan Kalmick, and Natalie Moser, who bid farewell as their terms ended. The incoming council has pledged to challenge policies from Sacramento, focus on reducing homelessness, and work on balancing the city’s budget.
