In a lame attempt at resisting President-elect Donald Trump, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, has self-appointed himself as co-chair of a new group that claims to be all about saving “democracy.”Worried about Trump and the incoming Republican Congress to back him, Pritzker says his Governors Safeguarding Democracy, as the group is called, will help to fight back and do its best to preserve the status quo.
“What we’re doing is pushing back against increasing threats of autocracy and fortifying the institutions of democracy that our country and our states depend upon,” Pritzker said about the endeavor.
“I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: No attempts to restrict the freedoms and opportunities of Illinoisans will be tolerated.”

Pritzker is wildly unpopular
Unfortunately for Pritzker, there are almost no other governors on board with Governors Safeguarding Democracy: it appears to be mostly just him trying to lead the charge to resist Trump and the Republicans in 2025 and beyond.
Pritzker continues to alienate himself with these types of things, trying again and again in cringeworthy desperation to maintain the existing world order even when it is clear now that a new world order is taking its place.
Having earned himself the reputation as “hard-left culture warrior who is happy to silence political opponents,” Pritzker seems to have no self-awareness of how pathetic he looks to everyone who is not a far-left zealot like himself.
While his censorship efforts are too numerous to outline in this one article, the following are among Pritzker’s worst offenses:
• Pritzker imposed 43 consecutive, monthly emergency orders to suspend ordinary government function and make himself dictator of Illinois, “trampling on a list of constitutional rights, justified through censorship and suppression of opposing scientific views.”
“Similarly, he issued 38 consecutive emergency orders enforcing his personal decisions about assistance and protection for illegal immigrants,” explains Wire Points.
• Pritzker seems to hate the First Amendment, having proposed creating a legal cause of action against anyone who says something publicly that he considers to be “false” or “misinformation.”
• Pritzker signed off on multiple new laws banning discussion of political or religious matters at company meetings, that one currently being challenged in federal court – Pritzker is also trying to silence pro-life activists who speak out about abortion.
• Pritzker did nothing when his party’s operatives tried to keep Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. off the Illinois state ballot in 2024.
• Pritzker signed a law earlier this year that the courts rejected that would have only knocked Republican political candidates off the ballot “through a retroactive change in slating procedures.”
• Pritzker is notorious for successfully implementing radical legislation and agendas that have almost no public support.
“Thanks to the most gerrymandered election maps in the nation (which Pritzker signed off on in violation of campaign promises), Pritzker’s millions spent on elections and general mastery of the election process, we have an overwhelmingly undemocratic result,” reports explain about the situation in Illinois under Pritzker.
Virtually every public poll conducted in Illinois shows that like Americans in other states, Illinoisans want things like school choice, smaller budgets, voter ID, and indoctrination-free education for their children. What they do not want is what Pritzker is constantly pushing while claiming to be a proponent and defender of “democracy.”
“His smug, arrogant, and self-righteous posturing combined with outright lies is breathtaking,” one commenter wrote about Pritzker.
Whenever the deep state refers to “democracy,” what they are talking about is their own stranglehold on power. Learn more at Tyranny.news.
