Trump to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria

Sharing is Caring!

President-elect Donald Trump plans to withdraw American troops from northern Syria, following his long-standing stance against prolonged U.S. military engagements overseas.

The goal is to bring American soldiers home and reduce the U.S. military footprint in the Middle East. Trump argues that the U.S. should not engage in conflicts that don’t directly benefit American interests.

The withdrawal will focus on northern Syria, where U.S. troops have been aiding Kurdish forces and countering ISIS.

Trump’s plan calls for a phased withdrawal, preventing U.S. soldiers from getting caught in conflicts between Turkey and Kurdish militants. The process is expected to begin after Trump takes office in January 2025.
