Taiwan is reeling from the impact of Super Typhoon Kong-Rey, which struck with ferocious winds of up to 200 km/h (124 mph), equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane. The powerful storm has wreaked havoc across the island, leading to extensive damage and chaos.

The destruction caused by Kong-Rey is staggering. Buildings have collapsed, flooding has ensued, and landslides have blocked vital roadways. The scale of the disaster highlights the ferocity of the typhoon and its catastrophic effects on infrastructure.

In preparation for the storm, Taiwan’s military and emergency services were put on high alert. Approximately 36,000 soldiers and 6,000 first responders were stationed and ready to assist in recovery efforts, showcasing the island’s commitment to public safety.
