Samsung’s Dallas staff faced a major blow last week as the company laid off approximately 25% of its local workforce. This decision reflects broader cuts affecting up to 30% of Samsung’s international operations, including positions at its Texas chip manufacturing site. The Dallas layoffs impacted not only the chip plant but also various divisions, with around 15% of roles cut from sales and marketing and up to 30% from administrative staff.
Employees affected by the cuts will receive a six-month severance package, an attempt to mitigate the impact of these sudden layoffs. Samsung’s decision is part of a strategic overhaul as the tech giant adapts to evolving market conditions and industry demands.
