Elon Musk has made waves with his substantial financial backing for a pro-Trump Super PAC, donating close to $120 million to America PAC. This includes a $75 million contribution between July and September and a further $44 million in October. Musk’s involvement marks him as one of the largest individual donors in this election cycle, with his contributions second only to Miriam Adelson’s $95 million support.
This significant financial influence has not gone unnoticed internationally. Germany’s Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, representing the Green Party, has voiced serious concerns over Musk’s donations and his control of X (formerly Twitter). Habeck warns that Musk’s support and his sway over a major social media platform could alter the political landscape and impact election discourse. In light of these worries, Habeck is pushing for stricter regulations on X to prevent potential foreign or individual influences from shaping democratic processes.
