Commuters heading home can expect delays as Amtrak train cancelations in and out of New York City’s Penn Station are starting to mount after a train derailment Wednesday afternoon south of the station blocked the tracks.

An Amtrak spokesperson tells Newsweek, “At approximately 2 p.m., one set of wheels on Train 133 derailed while departing from the station. Part of the train was still at the platform, allowing customers could safely and quickly depart the train.”

Amtrak Trains 133 and 196, to and from Washington and New York, are canceled due to “ongoing equipment issues,” the company announced just before 4 p.m. EST Wednesday.

The New York City Fire Department tells Newsweek that it received a call at 2:37 p.m. to help a wheelchair-bound passenger off the impacted train.
