Bill #H4750, titled “An Act to ensure legal parentage equality,” has indeed passed the Massachusetts Senate. The bill aims to update the language on birth certificates to be more inclusive. Specifically, it replaces the terms “mother” and “father” with “person who gave birth” and “other parent”. The bill is now set to be finalized and will head to the Governor’s desk for approval.
