Bipartisan Senators have reached an agreement to advance legislation that would ban stock trading among members of Congress, their spouses, and dependents. The proposed ETHICS act aims to prevent lawmakers from profiting off information that only they possess. If passed, it would be a significant milestone, as it’s the first stock trading bill to receive formal consideration by the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
For the first time EVER — there’s a deal to BAN members of Congress from trading stocks 🔥🔥🔥
“I will be putting this legislation on our committee’s next markup later this month… scheduled July 24th.”
