—Left coalition (New Popular Front) projected first. (!)
—Far-right (RN) has lost its bid to take power. Anti-RN front appears to have worked very well.

2nd leading pollster projects a similar result—if anything a higher range for the Left coalition.
This wld be a much stronger result than expected for the Macron bloc as well. Still, a big drop for them from outgoing Assembly (250, enough for governing with plurality). pic.twitter.com/nve2hcfnyc

The French left-wing New Popular Front coalition has secured the most seats in the second round of parliamentary elections, as per exit polls. This unexpected outcome places them ahead of the far-right National Rally (RN) party, although they fall short of an absolute majority in parliament. President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist bloc narrowly trails the RN in the battle for second place. The official results are expected soon, with voter turnout reaching historic levels.
French elections: Left projected to win most seats, ahead of Macron’s coalition and far right
France’s left-wing parties were expected to win the most seats in the Assemblée Nationale, after the second round of snap parliamentary elections, first estimates showed on Sunday, July 7. The far right made significant gains but finished third, behind Macron’s coalition, well below expectations.
The Nouveau Front Populaire (NFP) alliance, formed less than three weeks ago by the main left-wing parties, was expected to clinch between 172 and 192 seats, according to the early estimates by Ipsos for France Télévisions, Radio France, France24/RFI and LCP. The far-right Rassemblement National and its allies were projected to win between 132 and 152 seats, and Macron’s coalition, Ensemble, between 150 and 170.
