But what does it mean to ‘support the economy?’ Were they asked the question in those words? Or were they asked something like “would you like to continue to earn a living this year?” Do 31% of Americans even know what an economy is? Do 50%? 75%? I think the answers would shock.

I suppose they mean Non-Discretionary Spending (rent, mortgage, utilities, food, transportation, etc) versus Discretionary Spending (entertainment, vacations, hobbies, etc.)
