After months of negotiations and the looming threat of a strike, Disneyland workers, represented by a coalition of four unions, have successfully secured a significant pay raise. This coalition, known as the Master Services Council, represents around 14,000 employees at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney.
Details of the Agreement
- 31% Pay Raise: The new contract includes a 31% pay raise over the next three years. This is being hailed as the “biggest wage increase ever” for Disneyland resort employees.
- Hourly Wage Increase: Most workers will see their hourly wage increase by $6.10 over the three-year period. The minimum pay will rise from the current $19.90 to $24 per hour this year, and it will further increase to $26 per hour by 2026.
- Long-term Employee Benefits: Employees with long-term service will receive additional benefits. Those with 10 years of service will get a 50-cent pay increase, and those with 20 years of service will receive a $2 increase.
- Back Pay: Current employees will receive back pay at the new rate from June 17, 2024.
- New Employees: New hires will start at 90% of the new rate for their first year.
